A sad farewell yesterday to my colleague Chris Casey, who abdicated his assistant city editor/business position here at the paper to, the poor soul, take on a full-time music writer position at the Colorado Springs Gazette. It's a rotten thing, I imagine, to have to go from whipping the newsdesk into shape to having to write stories about musicians and music all the time, but it's a challenge I'm sure the respectable Mr. Casey will endure. I will miss swapping CDs with him and his wife. And I swear I'm not that jealous of him, honest. Colorado's too far from the ocean, after all. Good luck, Mr. C.
